Dear forum,

I urgently need help with the following issue and would appreciate specific links or advice:

I want to install a welded wire panel fence. It should be as durable as possible so that the effort of installation does not have to be repeated in 15 years. I see less of a problem with the panels themselves (these can be easily replaced). The posts and their connection to the concrete pier foundation must be durable.

Questions:

  • Are there welded wire fences with stainless steel posts?
  • Alternative: Are there installation methods where regular posts (i.e., not stainless steel) are attached to a stainless steel element? This stainless steel element would then be embedded in the concrete pier foundation. Are there such stainless steel anchors that work with standard fence posts?
  • Any other advice on this matter?

Thank you!

Best regards

Avoid stainless steel. It is very expensive and doesn’t offer a real advantage compared to the “standard” option (choose reasonable quality). Both will easily last 50 years.

This is how it looks. If you don’t go for the cheapest quality but choose properly galvanized and powder-coated materials, your welded wire mesh fence along with the posts will last longer than you might expect. Stainless steel is really not suitable for a simple fence.

Here, I can recommend Camas. I have no involvement with them; I simply had everything custom-made and delivered by them myself.
