Hello, I have a brick masonry wall (Poroton). In the bathroom, a 11cm (4.3 inches) deep partition wall made of Ytong blocks was built up to a height of 115cm (45 inches) in the area of the washbasin. Now I want to install wall cabinets on the left and right sides of the washbasin. My question is: Is it sufficient to fix the cabinets with anchors directly into the Ytong blocks, or should I anchor them through to the main brick masonry? Possibly using threaded rods and adhesive mortar? I am concerned that the weight might pull the partition wall away from the main wall. How have you handled something like this? Thank you very much for your help. Regards

Strahleman27 Apr 2021 11:12Suitable anchors for Ytong should generally be sufficient for wall cabinets, as long as no disproportionately heavy items are placed inside. Fischer offers aerated concrete anchors (Fischer GB) that, depending on the type, can support a lateral load starting from 0.2 kN, which corresponds to just over 20 kg.
