Hello everyone,
I’ve heard different opinions about this. What do you do with the ventilation system in summer, turn it off or leave it running?
In the past few days, when it was warm outside, I noticed that heat was also coming in through the ventilation system. The supply air was about 24°C (75°F) even though the outside temperature was around 28°C (82°F), so it’s no surprise the house gets warm.
How do you handle this?

We experienced the same issues during the last two summers and want to try a different approach this year.
We reprogrammed the system last weekend.
It is completely off during the day (since we’re not home anyway, so the poor air quality doesn’t bother us) and set to level 2 at night when it’s cooler outside.
The air quality does worsen when the system is off, but I feel it has still achieved the desired result. The house heated up significantly less during the recent warm days compared to last summer. For now, we will keep it this way, but we might switch back to normal operation during longer periods of bad weather.
P.S. How old is your house? Is it already dry?
Our house (2 years old) is dry by now (humidity on normal days is usually around 30-40%, which is actually a bit too dry), so there shouldn’t be any problems with the system being off during the day.
