BenutzerPC25 Jun 2018 06:21In our basement, a membrane (vapor barrier) was installed during the shell construction phase. However, a hole still had to be drilled to lay the multi-utility cables in the basement. Water was used during the drilling process (presumably to cool the drill). At the same time, plumbing pipes were already laid and secured on top of the membrane. My question is: The area under the membrane is now damp. Is this a problem, or should it be allowed to dry first? This situation is a bit difficult since the membrane can no longer be easily removed due to the pipes already being installed on it.
Is the moisture going to cause any issues later on (like mold), or can the screed be poured over it as is?
