ᐅ Tiler Standards for Sloped Tiles – Is This Required?

Hello, our tiler justifies the way he installed the tile on the front side of the bathtub by saying it has to be installed at an angle according to a DIN standard.

Has anyone ever heard of this?
I could understand if the tile on the front side is installed so that standing water flows back into the tub, but tilting it outward so that water runs down the outside of the tub doesn’t make any sense to me.

Does anyone have a reliable statement on this?
Thank you!

I don’t understand the tiler. Instead of removing the one tile and reinstalling it with a bit more adhesive, they are telling such nonsense?

If you want the slope towards the bathtub (I would consider that professional), then arrange it accordingly. Whether the tiler will do that as a goodwill gesture, you will see.

Place a spirit level in that corner to check whether the bathtub also slopes inward.

Thanks for the reply.

It is important to know that there is no regulation, as he claims.

In my opinion, it is not professional if at least the slope of the bathtub is not provided. This slope can also be horizontal, but it should not be towards the wall. Water will always accumulate there if any reaches that area.

Please show us a picture of the tiles.
