Bieber081517 Aug 2015 22:52Hi, we are planning the terrace to be flush with the top edge of the finished floor. The idea is to install a standard patio door from the window manufacturer and an external drainage channel. There is also the option of a level threshold (almost barrier-free). Unfortunately, I don’t have any detailed product data. The relevant standard is quite strict (a 15cm (6 inches) threshold without drainage, which in my experience is rarely seen in practice).
How have you handled this? What did you decide on and why? How high is any existing threshold? Is the terrace covered? Is there drainage? Photos are welcome.

We have two terrace exits built according to DIN standards with a threshold sill. It is similar to a step.
Otherwise, we would have had to use liquid waterproofing and install a drainage channel. We have that at the front door... without a channel... the channel was unstable and did not fully serve its intended purpose, as it became clogged quickly.
I can gladly share pictures tomorrow.

Sebastian7918 Aug 2015 09:24A zero-threshold entrance is possible but extremely expensive, meaning you’re looking at about 600–700 euros net per meter with a magnetic threshold. I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s outrageously costly.
We have a 20mm (0.8 inch) threshold at the front door and the two floor-to-ceiling windows – the additional cost is minimal, and the threshold is barely noticeable.
At the windows, a slot drain is installed (or alternatively a wooden terrace that is raised high enough), while at the front door we have a step and do without something like that...

Hello
We are also planning to use a 20mm (0.8 inch) threshold on the patio and terrace doors.
The terrace should be as close as possible to the same level as the indoor floor.
A drainage channel is not planned; however, we have a 2.6m (8.5 ft) roof overhang,
and the slab is also the finished floor level.
