Hello

I am currently building my rooftop terrace using larch decking boards, and the substructure will consist of 45x75mm (1.8x3 inch) joists. Since the terrace has a continuous slope, I need to adjust the height quite precisely, and protective mats are already laid down for the building protection.

The height variation at the edges ranges from 0 to 50mm (0 to 2 inches). I found plastic spacers with threads online, but they start at 30mm (1.2 inches), and I only need a few in that range above 30mm.

I was considering placing 25x25cm (10x10 inch) panels in the higher areas and then compensating with the protective mats, or are there plastic pieces with different thicknesses or something similar?

I also want to keep the support area as large as possible because insulation is located under the protective mats and membrane. Regarding the protective mats directly on the wood, products with 90x90x10mm (3.5x3.5x0.4 inch) pads are often recommended online, but I can’t say that my boards dry quickly this way…

I read something about concrete bags here on the forum. Do they hold up well with very thin layers, especially in frost and similar conditions?
