Hello.
We are currently considering options to avoid cutting down doors (to maintain sound insulation). We are already familiar with the usual alternatives, such as frame ventilation, U-seals on the door, and so on. Now, we are interested in the "professional" solution of soundproof transfer elements (through-wall grilles) for wall installation.
Has anyone installed such elements, and do they really improve sound insulation?
Perhaps someone can also recommend a manufacturer you are satisfied with. I have found the following companies but do not personally know any of them...
·Durrer
·Kiefer
·Lindab
·LTG
·Schako
·Swegon
·Systemair
·Westaflex

Schallex hardly lets any air through, or only very little. As a layperson, I cannot imagine how air exchange can take place there. Or is air exchange in the utility room rarely needed in practice, since there is usually already a mechanical ventilation system installed there?
