Good morning,

the plot has finally been purchased... now the actual planning begins. Attached is our first draft, which I would like to open for discussion here. It is still very basic at this stage; no windows or furniture are drawn in yet, that will follow in the next step.

It would be nice if that were the case... unfortunately, this is not true for the estimate from a prefabricated house manufacturer!

Oh, I'm sorry if your provider considers the extra structural effort worth annoying you with fewer square meters. Hopefully, their mistake will last at least as long as your warranty period. I have been much more relaxed since I made it a habit not to try to understand everything anymore.

@11ant: That is exactly our current "problem," that the few extra square meters aren’t worth 20,000 EUR to us... which is why we are planning with this offset/displacement.
What is your opinion on the floor plan otherwise... you are quite "active" here after all.

How did it come about – was an unappealing structural engineering-style house the design goal? – I cannot tell from the design what direction the outcome was supposed to take.
