Hello,
Does anyone have experience using a shower toilet and can share their insights? Brand, complete system like the Geberit Sella, Mera, or shower toilets integrated into the toilet seat.
Since there have been over 60 posts about rimless toilets, I hope to get your support for my purchasing decision regarding shower toilets!

We have always had (since I was born) a small handheld shower spray with a flexible hose next to the toilet. It’s perfect for cleaning yourself.
Okay... we don’t have warm water running through it. But that’s easy to plan for in advance. (No one has ever complained about the temperature).

Please don’t take this question as a request for even more details, but rather as a practical question coming from a lack of experience. Isn’t it really inconvenient to spray your bottom after using the toilet?! Won’t the potentially contaminated water run down your bottom and legs or splash onto the hand holding the spray nozzle?
Seriously, I find it hard to imagine how this is more hygienic or how it makes toilet paper unnecessary. Your bottom ends up wet, and the toilet seat is probably damp from water or mist too, meaning you still need to wipe with paper.
And if I were a guest using a bathroom equipped with such a washing system, there’s no way I’d touch it—just the thought of what others might have used it for makes me feel nauseous... and is the handheld spray really that much more hygienic?!
Somehow, I just don’t understand the enthusiasm for this... [emoji51]

I don't really want to get into that now. It works fine in other countries. It's not that complicated.
Regarding the original topic: our plumber can't install the hygiene shower according to the standards, so now there are just two toilets. For us, that’s the end of the discussion.
I don’t find it all that interesting to go into more detail. I think when the pit latrine was still standard, people asked similar questions [emoji6]

A spray arm extends from below to clean the areas mentioned, and afterwards it dries with warm air… a very pleasant feeling, with warm water for cleaning and drying. You don’t need to use your hand and a spray nozzle, and the toilet doesn’t get dirtier than a regular one. It is definitely more hygienic than a standard toilet while also reducing the need for toilet paper.
