Hello everyone,
After months of waiting, our shower doors finally arrived. Unfortunately, the door in the guest bathroom broke into thousands of pieces during installation. Fortunately, I had hired an installation service from the manufacturer and didn’t install it myself. The installer was lucky to only be startled and was unharmed. Apart from some damage to the walls and tiles, we have a shower tray in the guest bathroom which has several small chips.
Is this serious, or are these primarily cosmetic defects?
There are repair specialists for bathtubs and similar surfaces. Does it make sense to use such a service, or should I insist on a replacement? Can they restore the appearance perfectly?
Best regards and stay healthy.

Hello.
*Sorry for using this thread for something else*
I also have a flat shower tray (90cm x 90cm (35 inches x 35 inches)) with two chips visible.
If it were acrylic, would those spots rust? I once got paint for acrylic shower trays and sprayed it on, but it didn’t last very long.
Those two spots look like they might be rusting. How can I find out if it’s a steel or acrylic tray?
P.S. It was already very heavy.

Steel or acrylic bathtub isYou can tell just by the weight – lightweight versus heavy metalHello everyone,
I didn’t want to start a new thread, but some time ago I noticed a paint chip on the edge of our bathtub. I was quite surprised because we have only used the tub a few times for hair washing since moving in about 1.5 years ago. It has never been used for bathing.
We then bought some enamel paint from the hardware store and applied it.
Today I noticed another chipped spot. The tub is less than 2 years old.
Can I make a warranty claim on the tub (which we got through the plumbing supplier from the general contractor), or is this something you just have to accept since it doesn’t affect the function?
It is a Kaldewei Cayono Duo bathtub. As far as I know, it is made of steel enamel.
I’ve attached a picture. What do you think?
