Hello everyone, as a precaution, I have built my bathroom to be accessible, since you never know what might happen – meaning it is barrier-free – with a new large whirlpool bathtub and a new shower. The bathtub is excellent and works exactly as I imagined; I installed it myself. Only the shower is an issue. It is a Kermi shower enclosure, rounded on one side and placed against a straight wall, with both glass doors opening to the right and left. The installation was subcontracted by the seller, a large sanitary supplier in Bavaria, to an external installation company. First, after setting the shower tray, everything was carefully measured. Then it took a long time before someone came to install the enclosure. That was the mentioned external company. This company botched the installation so badly that water leaked out on the sides; one side was installed so crookedly that there was a gap several millimeters wide, and the door lifting mechanism was not activated either.

Now I complained, and a technician from Kermi customer service came and properly installed the enclosure. That fits now. But now, the door that was initially installed crookedly has started to squeak terribly when opening and closing. I believe the material has been damaged due to the improper installation back then. I am quite frustrated by now because this is an expensive, high-quality shower and not a cheap DIY store item.

Does anyone here on the forum have any ideas on what can be done, or is the squeaking normal?

Well, the manufacturer’s initial response was basically acceptable, even though the result isn’t quite right yet. Call them and have them come back again. It will work out, even though it is really frustrating.
