Hello experts,

I am currently installing new coping stones on a wall and partly repainting existing old ones. I want to paint both the new and old stones uniformly. The joints are planned to be sealed and painted over with OTTOSEAL M360 hybrid sealant.

For the coping stones, I have mixed Caparol Muresko paint, and for the base, I have mixed Caparol Sylitol Finish 130. For the base (2mm (0.08 inches) scratch render), I was recommended to use Caparol Sylitol RapidGrund as a primer.

How should I prime or paint the coping stones? Is a primer necessary, or can I possibly skip it?

Photos of the new and old stones are attached to illustrate.

I would appreciate tips and experiences.

Thank you for your help!
