Hello,
we are currently planning our semi-detached house.
I wanted to ask for your opinion on satellite TV.
Would you still consider satellite TV in a new build at all? So far, I have had good experiences with satellite TV.
A friend of mine told me that from 2024, fees will also be charged for satellite TV (similar to cable TV subscription fees).
Is that true? What is the story with these fees?
Does satellite TV still make sense?
Yes, I watch a lot of streaming and on-demand services, but I currently still use satellite TV for live sports.

I only see them on the roof or as a flat antenna on the balcony.
I would like to hear more experiences with flat antennas.

Again: The Selfsat antennas are good and very discreet. They are not new either; I have been using them since around 2010 in an apartment and later on a house. There are no disadvantages compared to 85cm (33 inches) dishes. You can also have them wrapped or painted to match. However, if you don’t want to see any of it and cannot access the roof, you should have paid closer attention during the planning phase.

Are selfsat flat antennas the best option?
There are also TechniSat and Humax.
Thanks for sharing your experience that flat antennas are comparable to the regular ones.

Hello,
A few years ago, we switched from IPTV to satellite and installed a flat satellite dish from Selfsat. The dish is mounted on the facade just below the roof. Reception problems have been very rare and only occurred during thunderstorms. We can live with that. Streaming works flawlessly on the same TV via Wi-Fi.
Best regards,
Michael
