ᐅ Shortening a roller shutter when converting a door into a window

Hello,

I would like to partially brick up a balcony door. A window is to be installed in the upper section.
My question is whether I can keep the roller shutter box (new box, insulated, etc.) and only reduce the number of slats.
The roller shutter is electrically operated. The balcony door and roller shutter box are not a single unit.
