McLovinGood morning dear forum,
I have the following question:
We bought an older house and replaced all the windows, sliding doors, and the front door. We also renewed the internal screed (including underfloor heating and insulation beneath it, since the house has a basement).
The window installer fitted the front door and sliding doors and sealed the lower area with a black, rubber-like membrane to keep moisture and rainwater from coming into the “interior” of the house. Behind the membrane are already the screed and insulation.
What is your assessment of this work and your opinion on how to proceed next, as the outdoor area with paving slabs will be completed soon?
My thought was to brush on a bitumen waterproofing membrane, which will be renewed anyway around the entire base of the house.
I would be very grateful for professional advice!!!
Best regards,
Philip
