Hello,

I have a question regarding roof insulation according to the 2009 Energy Saving Ordinance.
We built our detached house with 1.5 stories and a 45° roof pitch in 2013.
However, there is no insulation wool installed on the ceiling in the attic space.
Is this allowed? Or is it sufficient if the ceiling of the upper floor is insulated?

Attached is the energy calculation.

The attic is unheated and separated by a well-insulated staircase – so everything is fine. If you want to convert the attic into living space, you will of course need to change this (not just the insulation).

Why was an underlay membrane installed as well?

Thank you for the information.
Would it provide any additional energy efficiency benefits if I were to insulate the attic as well? The attic is only used as a storage space.
