Bauherr19813 Jul 2015 18:01Hello everyone,
We are currently working on automating our roller shutters. I have come across manufacturers such as Schellenberg, Selve, and Lifteo. Can anyone recommend a specific manufacturer? Are there any notable differences between these manufacturers?
Thanks and good luck

Bauherr19813 Jul 2015 21:08I have done some research myself. Selve seems to be really good, see here: xxx.Rollladen-Shop.de/Rollladenmotoren/mit-comfortfunktionen/ They even offer a Plus-R version. More affordable would be the products from Lifteo, which I have already found starting at around 80 euros.

Have you ever looked into Rademacher? They have a very good reputation. I upgraded to the Rademacher radio system last year, so I can’t say anything about its durability yet. At least they are solid, and the installation was easy. Programming the end points and such was a breeze because it mostly happens automatically after installation.
You just have to be careful to choose the appropriate motor strength. Too strong isn’t good either, because the end point might not be detected, and the motor could keep running since it has too much power. You can still set the end point manually, but damage might already have occurred.
It’s best to get advice from a professional before making a purchase. I found caliso online while comparing prices and contacted them by email before buying. They provided good advice and a fair offer. Since the specialist company is near me, I picked up my motors there myself, but shipping, of course, is also possible. When making larger purchases online, I prefer suppliers close to where I live whenever possible, as I have had the best experiences that way.

Alibert872 Feb 2023 09:22Hello everyone, I’m revisiting this topic because I’m currently looking to retrofit roller shutter motors in our house (with internal roller shutter boxes).
Some family members have gone with the "cheap" ones from Amazon, which have been running without problems for over 5 years (around 40 euros), or would it be better to choose brands like Rademacher and others?
Do you have any recommendations? Thanks 🙂

Allthewayup2 Feb 2023 14:13There isn’t much positive information about Selve online anymore. I can no longer confirm the statement from 2015.
We chose Somfy Oximo WT because we hadn’t read as many negative reviews about them, and their price was comparable to Selve. A roller shutter installer recently told me that they’re all quite similar, and that proper installation and smooth operation without obstructions are more important.
Should the motors support radio control/KNX?
