Hello everyone, my plumber wants to install a ring circuit for cold and hot water in my bathroom (see sketch).
He plans to extend the 18mm (3/4 inch) hot water supply line through the bathroom and then connect it at the end of the loop to the 15mm (1/2 inch) hot water circulation line... Is this really the correct method?

Thanks

The hot water system with circulation can be done that way.

However, I don’t understand why the plumber wants to create a ring main for the cold water. This is usually done to ensure flushing and prevent hygiene issues. I don’t necessarily see the need here; it would also be sufficient to place a frequently used sanitary fixture as the last user.

All in all, it seems a bit complicated to me, and installing more piping is almost no longer possible.

Thank you very much for the information, I have now removed the cold water ring main from the plumber’s to-do list.

Completely forgot, today the first updates of the fittings (Grohe iBox) were installed. The wall is still being built up with Ytong blocks, so the fittings were simply screwed onto the old plaster for now. I’m attaching a few photos because I’m not very happy with the workmanship, but maybe I’m being a bit too picky? For example, each iBox is fastened with only two screws instead of four, and the pipe routing looks somewhat careless to me. Do you usually insulate the hot water pipes that run along the concrete and will later be encased in screed? What do you think of the installation? Thanks in advance.
