I want to renovate the interior of an old building’s basement. The basement consists of a granite stone plinth with a Prussian vault wall above it. I plan to level the exterior walls with a lime plaster and then install calcium silicate boards on top. Since the basement is still somewhat damp, I think this would be the best option. As the entire house will be insulated internally, the basement ceiling does not need insulation; however, I would like to try to thermally insulate the vault wall or insulate it at the junction with the exterior wall. I’m not sure how to proceed with this. Do you have any ideas? And is exterior wall insulation using calcium silicate combined with lime a good solution?
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Sebastian
