Hello everyone,

We are looking for a metal garden shed (approximately 3 x 3 meters (10 x 10 feet)).

It will be used to store a lawn mower, wheels, and similar items.

I wanted to ask for recommendations on manufacturers. Since we often have strong winds, it shouldn’t be the cheapest, flimsiest model. I have already looked at sheds from Biohort, which are very well made, but also come at a higher price.

Are there any other good manufacturers that offer more affordable options, or is Biohort still the best choice overall?

Thanks and best regards,
Jörg

We have a metal garden shed with a wooden lean-to from oogarden.de. It’s definitely in a different category compared to Biohort. Those are very well finished, but this shed looks perfectly fine, is stable, and costs only a fraction of the price. It simply suited our needs; of course, I would have liked one from Biohort as well. But it’s always a question of how much you want to invest.

I didn’t really find any alternatives in between, and for stability, our shed is installed on concrete pier foundations and also has an OSB floor. It’s also somewhat sheltered, so it definitely won’t be blown away easily.

Hello everyone,

We have both: the Highline garden shed from Biohort.
Top quality, very easy to assemble, everything fits together perfectly, and the assembly instructions are excellent. Customer service is outstanding – we bought two sheds and received the same key for both upon request. In daily use, Biohort sheds are great and simply look stylish.

From ooogarden, we have a firewood storage shelter.
Assembly was difficult, not everything fit properly, and the appearance is okay but not particularly attractive. Customer service essentially does not exist; after one or two years, I am still waiting for a response regarding the missing assembly instructions. You cannot get through by phone, and there is no reply to emails. At the time, it was advance payment only. I took the risk because it was cheap, but for a purchase costing several hundred euros, it would have been too risky for me.

Back in 2016/2017, I couldn’t find any alternatives in between either. Maybe there are some now. I believe there is a wider selection for trash bin enclosures these days, and perhaps some of those manufacturers offer something suitable for tools as well. It also depends on how large you need it to be.
Fingers crossed for you!

Biohort Europe. Still affordable, but well made. Everything else we looked at was rubbish.

We also have one from oogarden, and I must say it is completely sufficient. It contains everything I need.

Assembly is a bit tricky, so it’s best to have two people.

Two small parts were missing from the package, which I made up using materials from a hardware store. I contacted customer support, and they replied to me the same day. They offered to send me the missing parts or to refund the cost if I sent them the receipt for the materials. Since it was only about 3€ (approximately $3.30), I didn’t take up the offer.
