ᐅ Electricity Consumption of a Heat Pump

We have a groundwater heat pump, an electric heating element for hot water, and a 10 kW solar system with a 25 kWh (27 kWh) battery storage.

Now in winter, the solar system produces practically nothing. The electricity demand is supplied from the grid.
The system shows the daily electricity consumption.

What I don’t understand about these curves is the electricity demand around 4:00 AM. At that time, we are sleeping, and except for the heat pump, no electricity should be needed. I am not aware of any timer switch that turns anything on at that time.

What could that be?

Best regards,
Bernd

The answer is already in the question: I have a groundwater heat pump with 5 kW capacity and underfloor heating.
The brand name is Buderus Logafix WPW.
A hot water storage tank with a 6 kW electric heating element controlled only by a thermostat.

Your data looks like some kind of system takes a break before 4:00 AM, then starts a regular cycle again.

My guess, and that of some previous respondents, is that this cycle consists of heating, reaching the set temperature, heating off, temperature dropping below the set point, heating on, reaching the set temperature again, heating off, and so on. There is a pause before 4:00 AM. This can be described as a nighttime setback. You can see this from the data, regardless of what makes sense to you or not.

And honestly, you are one of the most unpleasant questioners I have come across in the three years I have been reading here.

You didn’t mention the model name, which is of course important when looking for the user manual.
Logafix WPW seems to be an older model. Which one exactly?
WPW 440IP, WPW 920IP
WPW 90I, WPW 140I, WPW 210I, WPW 270I?
Which controller/regulator?
I only find RC100 and RC310, but they appear to be more recent versions.

I am still looking up the model.
Here is the proof of the nighttime temperature setback:
Green LCD display showing menu text: Settings menu, 1st heating circuit setback, setback value, OK.

Insults are not very helpful!
There is no further information on the heat pump itself, but I found this:

Ok, unfortunately, the manual mentions an operating guide for the controller. I can't find it online. We would need the PDF. Do you have a separate manual for the integrated controller? Is there a different name on the cover page?
