ᐅ Plastic Window Well – Should the Insulation Be Revisited?

Hello,
our basement window wells were screwed onto the 12cm (5 inches) perimeter insulation. From the inside, you can clearly see (see photos) the polystyrene and the textured surface of the basement insulation.

Should this be left as is, or has anyone had experience with sealing slurry, for example? Or maybe plastered differently?

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions.

Hello,
please excuse my amateurish description... I am not very familiar with the technical terms. The basement insulation is, of course, made of extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) and not just expanded polystyrene (EPS)...!
I just wanted to close the thread and let you know that the external expert accepted it as is... even if it doesn’t look great.

But it looks a lot like expanded polystyrene.

We have the same problem as we are about to start plastering the foundation soon.

Our mea light wells are also screwed directly onto the styrodur insulation boards.
I would now like to improve their appearance.
Probably put mesh over them and then plaster.
That should work, right?
