Our shed roof will definitely be covered with a large photovoltaic system. Initially, when the roof angle was supposed to be flatter, the roofing was planned to be made from trapezoidal metal sheets. For various reasons, we have now decided on relatively heavy concrete tiles instead.
The manufacturer offers a 20-year warranty on the roof structure itself, plus an additional 5-year guarantee. So there is actually quite solid legal protection.
However, house builders are generally not the ideal solar installers in terms of experience, pricing, and modern technology.
If the roof is somehow slightly damaged by the photovoltaic system, and water ingress is only discovered years later, neither company will want to take responsibility.
Who has experience with how solar installers can extend their warranty?
Is it similar to the extended warranties offered for new car chip tuning?
