Hello,
we received the final construction drawings for signing yesterday. They seem to be fine, but I am having trouble understanding the sill heights and will contact the site manager about this tomorrow. Nevertheless, I am curious today.

The plans state "Sill height details are from the top of the reinforced window frame" (OKRFB). In the kitchen, a height of 1.035 m (3 ft 5 in) is shown. We had specified 90 cm (35 in) because our kitchen countertop is supposed to extend into the window area as a window sill replacement.
The plans show 0.5 cm (0.2 in) for waterproofing, 10.0 cm (4 in) for loose-fill insulation, 6.5 cm (2.6 in) for screed, and 1.5 cm (0.6 in) for the floor covering. The 18.5 cm (7.3 in) should be the difference between the sill height at the top of the reinforced window frame and the top of the finished floor, right?

If that is correct, then our 90 cm (35 in) height for the underside of the countertop no longer matches, and the sills of the other windows at 81.5 cm (32 in) also seem quite low. We currently live in a two-year-old new build where the underside of the window sill is about 90 cm (35 in), so 8 cm (3 in) higher.

Is there an error in the plans, or am I misunderstanding something?

Thank you
Y

The RFB should actually be installed on the screed, so you are right, and there must be a mistake here.

I just spoke with the site manager; they had assumed 90cm (35 inches) from the top edge of the countertop, but we specified 90cm (35 inches) from the bottom edge. This will be adjusted accordingly, and then it will be correct.
