Hello everyone,
For our new kitchen, we are considering whether to mount the faucet on the sink or on the countertop (not real wood). What are the advantages and disadvantages of each option?
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Even there, a faucet with a handheld showerhead is useful for occasional hair washing 😉.We had a shower installed. People sure come up with some things nowadays 😉

We had a shower installed. You find some interesting things these days 😉 However, there are situations where showering is not very practical, for example if your entire leg is in a cast... then you really appreciate having a kitchen sink where you can easily put your head under to wash your hair. The rest has to be cleaned the good old-fashioned way with a washcloth.
We did it this way because I prefer the look. The sink is also designed for the faucet to be mounted in the countertop behind it.
We haven’t noticed any disadvantages. You just need to seal it well, but that’s necessary around the edge of any sink.
The sink drain is not centered but positioned toward the back, so the faucet placement fits perfectly with that.

Edit: In the main kitchen, we have it set up differently. That is due to the farmhouse sink, which has a hole for the faucet. In my opinion, it really comes down to personal taste and doesn’t have major pros or cons. The only important thing is that the sink and faucet need to be compatible and designed to work together.
