Hello
I have a request. I am currently building an extension or entrance area, basically a hallway for storing shoes and jackets.
Width about 4.50 m (15 feet), depth about 2.50 m (8 feet)
The foundation slab is already in place.
Now the question is, what is the best material to build this entrance area? Ytong, hollow concrete blocks, or something else?
What size should the blocks be? 17.5 cm (7 inches) or 24 cm (9.5 inches)?
Later on, a shower might be installed above, so the bathroom would be expanded, but only about 2 m x 2.5 m (6.5 feet x 8 feet). As I said, the shower might be added on top.

My question is which blocks to use and what type of roof beams? I would prefer a wooden beam ceiling.

Thanks in advance.

Well, if the foundation slab is already in place: exactly as drawn in the building permit / planning permission.

The plan was to use 24cm (9.5 inches) Ytong blocks because of the insulation value. The question now is whether to consider hollow concrete blocks instead.

I wanted to say that the question overall sounds quite naive and like an illegal construction.

True. For me, the question is whether aerated concrete blocks (ytong) or hollow concrete blocks are better... Or if there is another alternative? The specified thickness is 17.5cm (7 inches)... A friend suggested using 24cm (9.5 inches) instead for better insulation. But since it’s only an entrance area, I’m not sure what to choose.
