Hello everyone,

I am planning to build a pool made of concrete. If I use concrete for this, does it need to be waterproof? What thickness should the walls and the floor have? I am planning to paint the pool afterward. Is that a reasonable approach?

I hope someone here can help me!

Thank you for any advice.

Hi Pool

Construction companies use concrete with a strength class of B-300, waterproof!
The floor must be 20cm (8 inches) thick, and the concrete walls need to be 25cm (10 inches) thick.

In my opinion, there is no good reason to paint the pool basin. This painting work has to be redone every 2–4 years anyway since the paint tends to peel off over time. Also, painting does not really offer a cost advantage when you consider that the average lifespan of liners is around 20 years.

I would suggest reconsidering this plan and gathering more information...

You can then share the results here 😎

Concrete Pool

Hello. In my opinion, a self-built concrete pool is much more affordable! Or am I mistaken?

It is possible to have the pool coated... this lasts a very long time, and you can also choose the design.... If you have any questions, just send a private message...

Hi

Why don’t you build a pool using expanded polystyrene blocks? You stack the blocks and then fill them with concrete. However, before painting the walls, I would recommend installing a waterproof membrane. It’s much better. The paint fades and needs to be redone regularly.
