We were offered a maintenance contract for the temporary power distribution box. The maintenance is supposed to be carried out monthly, and an inspection report will be created. Cost per month: 142.80€.

Is such a maintenance contract necessary?

I would say no. It seems like someone is just trying to take your money.

Who owns the temporary power box on the construction site? Is it yours, or did you rent it?

The temporary site power distribution box is rented from my main contractor.

Then the general contractor (GC) is also responsible for the proper function and condition. That’s really some creative rip-off. Next, there will probably be a maintenance contract for the street lighting…

Oh dear... I hope this is just a one-off and that the general contractor otherwise conducts business more professionally.
