Hello,
has anyone ever installed the main lighting in a house or apartment using LED strips?
Possibly integrated into a drywall ceiling and walls?
Or is that too prone to issues?
What should definitely be considered during the planning stage?
The apartment consists of a bedroom, bathroom, two kids’ rooms, hallway, storage room, guest toilet, and a combined living, dining, and kitchen area, as well as a balcony, with a total living area of 106 m² (1141 sq ft).
Thank you very much for your advice.

I installed three flush-mounted ceiling lights (with indirect LED strips) in my living and dining area. Two have a diameter of 1.2 meters (4 feet), and one has a diameter of 1 meter (3.3 feet). They really brighten up the large room, which is nearly 52 square meters (560 square feet).

I saw your pictures some time ago and remember them. It’s not my style, but others might fall in love with your solution. So: well done—and a good source of inspiration—if only the pictures could be found again…

We have a 65m² (700 sq ft) room with a ceiling height of 3.5m (11.5 ft), illuminated all around with LED strips... of course, not only that, we also have plenty of other lights, but also those. It already makes the room very bright, and dimmed it looks really nice as well. ᐅ Rohbaukeller/Fundament steht 10 Jahre | Seite 13 (hausbau-forum.de)

How is lighting controlled with DALI?
Directly via switches, wirelessly, with Eltako, or by other means?
Is it absolutely necessary to include KNX as well?

Nothing is mandatory, but it usually makes sense as soon as additional components are involved (presence detectors, external venetian blinds, etc.). With KNX, you have all the possibilities...
