I want to install a special type of flooring in my living room. Has anyone here ever tried cork? I find it very interesting but I'm not sure about the potential disadvantages of this kind of flooring. It needs to be more than just stylish. Maybe you could give me some tips on choosing the right floor covering. It can also be something completely different.
Thanks in advance! 🙂

But other than that, it’s a TOP floor :-)

listchecker-13 Aug 2008 21:38Hi!
By the way, cork flooring costs approximately between 15 and 35 euros per m² (10 and 33 USD per square yard).
Furthermore, cork floors are known to be very durable, making them an excellent choice for rooms that experience heavy use.

Thank you for all your helpful tips and advice. I think I will go ahead and buy my cork flooring in the next few days. To be honest, I had concerns about the durability and cleaning of cork flooring, but those were cleared up thanks to your many suggestions. Is it really not a problem to install cork flooring in a room with underfloor heating? That is the only remaining point causing me hesitation.

a piece of cork the size of a sugar cube contains around 60 million air cells! that’s why cork has extremely high insulation properties and is one of the best natural insulating materials – as a result, the underfloor heating will naturally lose some of its efficiency.

mantafan-112 Aug 2008 18:11Hello everyone,
I never thought cork flooring would provide such good insulation. I always had my doubts about it. Thanks to you, I’ve now been proven wrong. I always thought cork was only suitable for walls as a bulletin board, but never for floors. Now I will look into it because maybe cork flooring could be an option for me as well. I’ll give it some thought. Your advice has definitely convinced me.
