Hello,
we are planning a new build and are deciding between these two wall constructions:

24cm calcium silicate brick + 24cm external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS)

or

30cm T14 aerated concrete block + 16cm ETICS

The advantage of the T14 would be that the windows could be installed recessed in the jamb. With the calcium silicate brick, the windows would have to be installed flush with the insulation layer, as we do not want very narrow window sills.

What would you recommend?

And if calcium silicate brick, which density would you suggest? Is 1.2 (1200 kg/m³) sufficient, or if so, better to go right away with 1.4 (1400 kg/m³) or even 1.8 (1800 kg/m³)?

Why not T7/T8/T9?
