Hello,

We are currently building a new house, and the topic is stair lighting. It is a freestanding wooden staircase with a total of 16 steps. Lighting is to be installed in the sand-lime brick/concrete wall every two steps. The wall where the lights will be installed is curved.

We want recessed LED spotlights. There are plenty of options available, but how can these be installed into the wall? I was thinking of using a 60mm (2.4 inches) recessed back box. However, there are very few recessed spotlights suitable for such a back box.

Are there other options WITHOUT using a wooden construction or mounting bracket? As mentioned, the lights should be installed directly into the wall.

Best regards and many thanks in advance for your answers!

I searched for this for a long time as well... Are you looking for round or square recessed lights? Should the lights actually illuminate the space, or are they more for decorative purposes?

Hello,

they will probably be round. For your 60mm (2.4 inches) flush-mounted box, however, both options are available. It is meant only for step lighting/visual effect. The spotlights are not intended to be used for spatial illumination or similar purposes.
