Hello everyone,

Since I would like to install the walkway from the garage to the house myself using paving slabs and edging stones, I’m interested in hearing how you have done this.

Online, you can find many different how-to guides, especially about when to use a plate compactor.

I also wanted to ask how you constructed your patio. Did you use a concrete subbase or a simple gravel bed?

.. that depends on what you envision as the final result and what types of boards you have planned.

Manufacturers usually provide relevant instructions in their catalogs or technical documentation.

For us, everything is built on a gravel and crushed stone base.

With the help of my father, I built all the paths and terraces myself.
Base layer of crushed stone and gravel.
The crushed stone was compacted using a vibrating plate, then the gravel was laid on top. The gravel was also lightly compacted and leveled. Then the stones or slabs were placed on top. Finally, I compacted everything again with the vibrating plate.
