ᐅ Is the appearance of the new facade satisfactory or not?

Hello everyone,

We are almost finished with our house, but recently when I was at a neighbor’s place, I noticed this:

White house facade with gray base, dark windows and garden fence in the foreground

That made me suspicious, so I checked again at night with a spotlight, and this is what I found:

Night photo of a gray exterior house wall with windows at night

Night photo of the exterior of a house with windows and gutter

Night photo of an exterior wall of a house with rough plaster surface

Exterior view of a house at night with door, windows and gutter

Two acquaintances of mine who work for a painting company, and another who works for a drywall company, told me that we should have had this redone.

At the moment, I am still waiting for a statement from my builder.
A friend who has a similar issue and built with the same company was dismissed with: “It’s due to the exposed location and the strip lighting.”

Am I being too picky, or is this really poor workmanship?

Best regards & thanks

Have you already inspected the scrap?

I believe that small or large-area waves that are not very noticeable (only slightly visible with grazing light) are within tolerance. However, I find your facade and that of your neighbor to be very rough and unacceptable.

Since it was all cloudy at the time of acceptance, no. But something like that could also be considered a hidden defect in a pinch.

Another acquaintance told me that you always have some unevenness every now and then. -.-

So, you canceled the inspection because of the cloudiness? How is that supposed to be a hidden defect? If you didn’t raise any issues during the inspection, you’ll probably have to live with those "slight unevenness" 🙂

The inspection has already been completed. However, since I am only an amateur and this poor workmanship is only visible under indirect sunlight, it is a hidden defect and can still be reported afterwards.
