Hello everyone,
I wanted to have a stove installed in my new build. I thought my girlfriend would really like it. However, I didn’t consider installing a chimney during the construction. Is that expensive? And can you install something like this in any living room? Do I even need to have a chimney? Can someone maybe help me???

Hello bibi,
I have a stove in my living room, and I can definitely recommend it. In winter, you can sit comfortably in front of it and enjoy reading a book... However, it can be quite an expensive investment, as the stove itself costs a lot. Still, I can say that my heating costs have decreased because of it...

You are absolutely right, uschi, it must be great to lie in front of the fireplace and relax, but I can’t believe that the costs have gone down, because wood is not cheap either when you calculate it over a month. I wouldn’t run my entire household on the stove.

I don’t rely solely on my stove to heat my home. But I use it a lot, and once the stove is on, the warmth lasts for several hours. I don’t think a heating system would keep the heat for that long. And the cost of wood isn’t as high as people often think.

Ok, then I probably misunderstood you a bit... But if you say it’s much cheaper than people usually think, I’m willing to believe you... Now, back to bibi’s questions... I think you can add everything later if you want to... Nowadays, everything is possible. You should check with the construction companies about that. I haven’t done it yet, so I can’t give you a precise answer...

Hello bib,
so I had a stove built... I actually decided on it a bit later... Of course, there are some significant costs involved... But if you want something and nothing is too expensive for your girlfriend, you can go for it—and you also get to enjoy it for a long time...
