Dear forum,

Is it advisable to arrange the utility connections for the plot before starting the earthworks? Specifically, the plot is about 1500 m² (0.37 acres). Earthworks are planned to begin in July, followed by the shell construction in September.

We would like to use the time until summer to have electricity, water, and sewage lines installed to our plot. Is this effective, or should this work only start in coordination with the earthworks?

Are there any particular sequences to follow in the coordination?

Looking forward to your feedback!

Usually done together with the excavation work, otherwise the excavator has to come twice…

Coordination? You need to have electricity, water, wastewater, and Magenta connected to the site promptly and almost simultaneously.

In any case, do not start before the building permit / planning permission is granted.

This is about whether the original poster can or should have the utility lines installed up to or onto the property.

If the location of the house and the future connection point are determined, what would be the reason not to arrange this before obtaining the building permit/planning permission and starting earthworks? The utility providers are responsible for this and receive the corresponding connection fees from the builder.

We initially thought the same but then decided against it.

Now the utility companies have installed the connections, and the top part of the pipes still sticks out of the ground a little, so you can basically see a kind of cap. Sorry, I have no idea what it's called...

During the earthworks, the excavator operator would have had to constantly maneuver around these things, which, in my opinion, would have been very complicated.
