ᐅ IKEA Kitchen Planner – Restoring a Saved Design – Any Experiences?

Hello fellow IKEA fans,

About 3-4 months ago, I planned a kitchen using the IKEA kitchen planner program and saved it under my username. Recently, I accessed it again (which worked), but I realized that I have a new email address that I hadn’t updated in my profile yet. When I updated it, I received an email confirming the change was successful. After logging in again, the saved kitchen plan was gone.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it possible to restore the plan?

Thanks for your answers and best regards,
Carsten

Sorry, your plan is most likely lost.

Just a tip: The email address is not used to send you emails. In the kitchen planner, it only functions as your username to access your plans either from your side or at the showroom. This means that even if you change your email address, you can simply keep using the "old" one at Ikea to continue accessing your data.

Try logging in again with the old email address. If that doesn’t work, your plan is probably gone.

Best regards

Na.

PS: One more thing comes to mind: Sometimes the server where your plans are stored is overloaded. In that case, when you open your account it might not display anything at all. So try again after a few hours or even days. Sometimes it works... Otherwise, the planner is really great.

Or plan offline, meaning download the software first and then plan.

I prefer not to save data online ("in the cloud"...) except maybe my emails, until I eventually retrieve them with my email client.

I am not familiar with online kitchen planners, so unfortunately I can't help. It’s better to use offline tools. That way, you maintain full control of your data. (Don’t forget backups, this applies in general!)

So, I don’t know any online kitchen planners! Unfortunately, I can’t help with that. It’s better to use offline software. That way, you have full control over your data. (Don’t forget backups, that always applies!)

That’s exactly the problem. You can only use and save the current planner online. With the previous version, you downloaded the software.

Really? Oh... I didn't know that!

And for me, this thing just doesn’t work at all.

This is usually because your browser is too new. No joke! Download an older version of Explorer or Firefox, and the planner will run.

Swedes aren’t that fast, after all.
