Hi,
I am trying to estimate how much time it will take to paint 650m² (7000 sq ft) of wall. There are two of us, both complete beginners and poorly equipped. Does anyone have experience with this? I need to request time off...

Wow, I’m supposed to remember what happened 4 years ago? That’s quite a task.
If I recall correctly, our entire family spontaneously helped with the painting. There were 7 people in total. After finishing the first rooms, a division of labor became clear. The women taped off everything and painted the edges and corners. The 3 men used large rollers to cover the surfaces. Everything was primed and painted twice.
I think we finished in 3 or 4 days.

I did have some help, but I completed most of the work in the evenings after my job. The problem is that a lot of time is needed for preparation (changing clothes, running electricity into the room, connecting the light, fetching painting supplies) and especially for cleanup afterward (e.g., washing out the rollers). As a result, from 2 hours available, only about 1 hour remains for actual painting.
Therefore, Kaho’s approach is definitely the better option.
