ᐅ How much roof overhang is recommended for a knee wall height of one meter?

Hello,

a builder is offering me a 20/40 cm (8/16 inches) roof overhang for a gable roof. I find it a bit too small (visually minimal), especially since we also wanted a knee wall of one meter (3 feet 3 inches).
The areas between the top of the windows and the roof already look quite disproportionately large compared to the window sills and the floor.

What do you think... how much roof overhang should one have for the house to look well balanced and complete?

We have planned for 80cm (31.5 inches) and will keep it that way. It has advantages for shading and protecting the exterior walls from rain.

60 is basically mandatory. Everything else is just nonsense.
