Ugly scratches have appeared in the enamel coating of my bathtub. Is there a way to remove them? I am thinking of something like car polish – but for the bathtub. Does something like this exist?

Hi KuK, you can remove the scratches using special repair kits available at hardware stores. First, clean the surface thoroughly and fill the scratches with the filler compound. Then, smooth it out and sand it down once it has dried. It requires a bit of skill, but I managed to restore a nice vintage bathtub using this method.

Yes, I would have recommended that as well.

The tip is really good, I’ve done that as well. My cat had scratched the bathtub badly, it looked terrible.

Does it then stay like that "forever"? Or does it "fade" again after some time? Would you then not see it anymore at all? That would be really great.

There are special pens available specifically for enamel bathtubs, which do not fade over time. You just need to be careful when choosing the color; it is best to bring a color sample to select the exact shade.
