Hello everyone,
I hope I’m posting in the right place.
In a few weeks, we will be moving into our new-build apartment. Most of the living area has been fitted with granite flooring.
I have heard from some acquaintances that it is essential to seal (impregnate) the floor, and from some online research, I also read that it should be thoroughly cleaned first (even for newly installed flooring???).
The fact is, there is so much information on the internet. So, a question for you experts: how exactly does this work? Is it enough to buy a bottle of sealant at the hardware store and follow the instructions, or is there something else I need to be aware of?
Maybe it’s worth mentioning: we have underfloor heating (in case that matters).
Thank you.
Best regards

Whether it is necessary is another question. In the kitchen area, it can make sense because grease or sauce stains can really damage the appearance of granite.
A thorough cleaning can be useful for any surfaces in the house if there is still dirt present (or cement residue, and so on). With some construction companies, a thorough cleaning before handing over the house is included.

A few days ago, I left a review on Amazon for the product "lithofin color intensifier," including pictures of a flamed granite slab used outdoors, along with instructions on how to use the product and the necessary preparations. A good basic cleaner or cement residue remover definitely helps. You just have to do it properly and use the right tools.
You can probably find it easily on Amazon 🙂 (links are not allowed).
Feel free to ask here if you have any questions 🙂
