We are currently planning our single-family house (145 sqm/1,560 sq ft) with geothermal heating that requires drilling. Has anyone recently chosen this type of heating system and can offer advice regarding manufacturers or what to consider? We are complete beginners, so please keep explanations simple. However, I am interested in all information.

So far, we have received quotes from Viessmann and Lechner Massivhaus, which vary quite a bit in price. We don’t want to build cheaply, but reasonably.

What exactly do you need? A heat pump is a heat pump. It’s either good or very good.

You’re basically asking: I want to buy a car. Who can give me recommendations? I have no idea and have only been given two brand names.

No matter which heat pump you choose, it’s just the heart of the system. The design of the underfloor heating is the rest of the body. If it is weak (poorly designed), it won’t get properly warm or it will be expensive to operate.

The fact that different companies recommend different manufacturers is primarily due to their terms and conditions with the manufacturers.
We have a Waterkotte. Whether it really performs as promised, we will only find out over time. We just moved in January.
As already mentioned, the correct design of the underfloor heating is basically much more important.

Most heating and plumbing companies operate B2B partnerships with one, two, at most, and rarely three firms. Their employees receive all the necessary training and gain experience accordingly. That is why they recommend and install only those companies' products. I have a Buderus ground source heat pump system; I would have preferred Nibe, but it wasn’t possible because none of the heating installers I know install Nibe systems.
