Hello,
at the beginning of this year, I was able to acquire a reasonably affordable single-family house.

Currently, there is an oil heating system installed from 2004 (Buderus G115).

The company Thüga Energienetze will be excavating the street in a few months to expand the gas network connection. So far, 19 households have joined in, and I am considering whether I should participate as well.

Cost approximately 1,250€

In view of the current developments, I was hoping to gather some experiences regarding the best option for the future, including possible funding opportunities.

I would appreciate any feedback,

Thank you very much

Do that, it is good in terms of price. And gas has morefuture prospects than oil.

I agree with that. Additionally, you save space by not having an oil storage room. Switching to a heat pump will definitely be more expensive.

Gas is also subject to the CO2 tax. Currently, we are still heating with oil. Last year, we were able to have a gas connection installed free of charge. Whether it will be used remains uncertain.
Do you have underfloor heating? Switching from oil to a heat pump or pellets is subsidized. Switching to gas, as far as I know, is not.

According to online research, switching away from oil heating is subsidized by 10%. If you choose a hybrid heating system, there is an additional 25% subsidy. Definitely go for it!

I would do it too... or rather, I already did. Gas is somehow more convenient—no tanks, no cleaning of them, and no insurance needed. So it’s definitely more comfortable in a way. I don’t know why.
