Antonino8530 Nov 2022 10:30Hello everyone,
I hope you can give me some advice on my project.
The building is a prefabricated house from Weberhaus, built in 1985.
In the attached drawing, the walls marked in red were already there. After consulting with Weberhaus, these are the supporting beams.
Now, we want to create an open kitchen area (on the left). We would like to remove the walls there while keeping the beams in place.
The contact person at Weberhaus said this is not a problem as long as we leave the central wall between the living area and the hallway, as well as the staircase, untouched. According to him, these drywall partitions provide stiffness and prevent the house from eventually becoming misaligned.
Additionally, we would like to move the water pipe about 1m (3.3 feet) to the right in the kitchen area. Is this easily possible in a prefabricated house?
Best regards,
Tony

Try marking the change on the plan. Where exactly are the studs that you want to keep?
My brother did something similar in an older house. However, that was a timber-framed building. In that case, it was done without the infill panels and included a passageway.
