Hello,

here’s a topic that isn’t directly related to construction for once...

Somehow, the decoration craze caught us just before Christmas.

How have you decorated your "home" to get into the spirit of your (first) Christmas in your own house?

Here are a few pictures of how things look at our place right now – we’re looking forward to seeing many beautiful photos of your decoration ideas.

Sorry, some pictures are a bit blurry – I wasn’t able to upload them in full size unfortunately.

Best regards & happy holidays,

Hi @Bauexperte,

I can’t give a "like" to this post. You shouldn’t lie.

OK – not exactly one room, but since the birthday:
- Anna doll (singing)
- Elsa doll (singing)
- Olaf figure (singing)
- DVD
- CD

From Christmas:
- Frozen hat
- Frozen boots
- Frozen socks
- Frozen bedding
- Frozen songbook with "piano keyboard" for playing along
- and I’m sure I forgot some stuff

Luckily, the Auchan in Luxembourg was closed when my wife came across the Frozen toys.

Hello f-pNo,

I think, apart from the squeaky noises, our Bella has all of that as well. I even had to reupholster the seat cushions of her seating area with Elsa fabric; she wears her Elsa dress all year round anyway. Glitter everywhere

Do you want to build a snowman ..... ?

I think the Ore Mountains need to step up their marketing a bit. I haven’t seen Raachermanneln and nutcrackers mentioned anywhere yet.

She hasn’t thought of the seating set idea yet. I won’t mention it. She doesn’t have a dress (yet), but she does have matching hair clips, a headband, bows, and that kind of stuff. Once she has a dress like that, it’ll probably be impossible to get her out of it. There are already arguments in winter when she doesn’t want to switch from dress/skirt to pants before going outside. Well – she’s a girl after all .

We still like to build a classic snowman – Olaf (he’s kind of funny, though) aside. However, where we live, the chance of having enough snow is maybe 10%.

My parents have the classic ones. My wife doesn’t like Räuchermännchen, and we don’t own a Nutcracker ourselves yet. Well – maybe later. The Räuchermännchen would be my option for “upgrading” next year. <-- as revenge for the threatened string lights .

Would you like an alternative?

My parents chose the traditional way. My wife doesn’t like smoking figurines, and we don’t have our own nutcracker yet. Well – maybe later. The smoking figurine might be my option to “upgrade” for next year. <-- as payback for the threatened string of lights .

You wouldn’t believe how much Christmas stuff we have. When we married, I brought one large box. My wife probably brought about ten large boxes. That’s why we agreed years ago on a ban on Christmas decorations as gifts. Now everything is sorted into A, B, and C quality. B and C items haven’t been touched except for moving over the last two years. Those will probably end up on eBay gradually.
