Hello,

here’s a topic that isn’t directly related to construction for once...

Somehow, the decoration craze caught us just before Christmas.

How have you decorated your "home" to get into the spirit of your (first) Christmas in your own house?

Here are a few pictures of how things look at our place right now – we’re looking forward to seeing many beautiful photos of your decoration ideas.

Sorry, some pictures are a bit blurry – I wasn’t able to upload them in full size unfortunately.

Best regards & happy holidays,

Please, Schwibbogen. It has nothing to do with being tipsy

Okay – this time I was too lazy to look it up. "Because he didn’t know what he was writing."

I just looked it up after all. I wouldn’t have thought that so many people spell the term for this arch incorrectly.

I like the pre-Christmas season, but I try to keep the decorations simple.

- On the lawn by the terrace, there is a fir tree decorated with large, warm white lights (traditional look with LEDs).
- In the office, there is a Schwibbogen (decorative candle arch).
- In our daughter’s room, there is a paper star.
- The hallway window has one of two illuminated frames with small stars (my husband insisted on this because the string lights are from our old house).
- In the kitchen/living room: three smaller wooden figures, an Advent wreath, and the second string of lights framing the terrace exit in the living room.
- Various LED tealights.
- Only the kids have calendars—the larger one is from Aldi.

The Christmas tree is already in the trailer under the carport. The tree ornaments didn’t survive the move. One fall and nothing was intact anymore.

Pictures will be posted over the weekend.

8. The Christmas tree – 2.30 meters (7 ft 7 in) tall and decorated in the "Anna-Elsa style" (silver-blue) – Anyone with young girls at home knows what I mean. (This year a real tree – next year an artificial one)

I’m curious if you’ll be able to get that past your loved ones.

By "style," do you mean the movie "Frozen"?

Since I was just in the kitchen taking pictures for Yvonne, I also snapped some photos of the non-illuminated decorations. I had forgotten about the vase on the stairs. It ended up holding the slightly damaged baubles that survived the fall. It was originally just meant for temporary storage, but it has now become part of the decor.

Yes – from the movie “Frozen.”
I can’t stand the music anymore. For MONTHS, it’s been my daughter’s favorite movie and favorite music.

I already managed to get the artificial Christmas tree approved. We were actually in agreement.
I left the choice to my wife. She definitely didn’t want one with “paper needles.” After a long search for a good value for money, we gave up and bought a real one at the garden center three weeks ago. About 2.30 meters (7 ft 7 in) tall and really beautiful – still looking great after three weeks. For that size, under 30 euros (around $33) was a bargain (even 50 euros (about $55) would have seemed fair for this tree).
Not even five days later, there was a 2.15 m (7 ft) tree on Amazon Cyber Monday – exactly what we were looking for – for 99 euros (around $110) (originally 160 euros) – so we bought it “for the future.”

It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one who can recite all the dialogues. Our Bella even has a Frozen-themed bedroom herself.
