Quick question: How thick are the Fastbo wall panels?

Unfortunately, this information is not available on the IKEA website.

Hello schrauberine

Fastbo panels are approximately 2.17mm (0.085 inches) thick

Do you just stick them to the wall with construction adhesive (ugly tiles)?

It is certainly the cheaper option (will be relevant for me soon as well), possibly Pattex mounting adhesive for non-absorbent substrates, but apparently there are also metal rails from Ikea or, as I read in the forum, you can use a U-profile or L-profile from the hardware store depending on the finish!

Hello,

There are NO rails or wall fasteners for fastbo wall panels. You can either use double-sided tape (this is best, as it is relatively easy to remove) or attach them to the wall with silicone. I would use the tape on smooth surfaces and silicone on tiles or textured wallpapers like woodchip.

Hello
Yesterday, I installed Fastbo for the first time on a rather uneven wall using "Pattex 4in1" to both bond and fill any small gaps.
With careful work, almost no joint is visible.

Best regards, bergpriv 🙂
