Hello,

Our house construction is progressing, and I am uncertain about the installation of the drywall panels. Is this considered a construction defect? Should I address it? The offset of the panels around the door area is missing, which could potentially lead to cracking or similar issues later on.

Perhaps someone has advice or experience to share?

Let’s put it this way: the installation guidelines from Rigips were not followed. You can also check them yourself, as they are publicly available, and show them to the contractor.

Technical drawing: Control joints at least 150 mm (6 inches) away from door openings.

Then that would also be wrong and unacceptable?

That looks like quite a terrible DIY job, but it’s hard to say without knowing the construction details.
