Hello everyone,
we are currently considering the minimum opening dimensions for both interior and exterior doors. We are a bit uncertain, especially regarding the height. We are both quite tall at 1.88 meters (6 ft 2 in), and a colleague recommended allowing a bit more height.
Our general contractor has specified a clear height of 1.98 meters (6 ft 6 in). Do you think this is too low, also from an aesthetic point of view? What are your experiences with door heights and widths?

Thank you. I just wasn’t sure about the possibly altered structural calculations. Instead of a 0.88 m (35 inches) door, maybe 2 m (79 inches), which would mean a different lintel or span (extreme example) hahaha

Structural engineering has nothing to do with the building permit / planning permission application 😉
